Hi, I’m Ruth
North Margin Studio grew out of twenty-three years of raising four kids, teaching, traveling, packing camp trunks, navigating college move-ins, sitting in hockey rinks, and collecting the systems and traditions that helped our family find its footing through every season.
This is where I gather those field notes.

About North Margin Studio
The Longer Version
Most overwhelming things get easier when someone helps you find the next step.
North Margin Studio is where I gather beautifully practical field notes for busy seasons of family life.
I’m Ruth, a teacher, mom of four, reading specialist, youth hockey registrar, list-maker, road-trip lover who believes most overwhelming things get easier when someone helps you find the next step.
This space grew out of real family life: packing for camp, navigating dyslexia, sending a child to college, organizing hockey seasons, planning Maine day trips, and carrying too many details in my head at once.
North Margin Studio is for the person who has ideas, plans, responsibilities, and good intentions, but needs a little margin, a little beauty, and a clear place to begin.
Here you’ll find field-tested lists, family guides, gathered-and-tested recommendations, Maine travel notes, learning resources, and practical tools for the things we are always carrying.
Not perfect systems.
Not one more impossible standard.
Just useful, thoughtful, good-looking help for real life.
