A studio built around what families actually need.

North Margin Studio began with thoughtful, practical tools for the full and complicated seasons of family life. It is now also home to my literacy work: individualized instruction, homeschool support, and flexible partnerships built around the learner in front of me.

The thread has always been the same.

Whether I am creating a useful family resource or helping a child make sense of reading, I am interested in support that is clear, practical, and genuinely useful—not more noise or another one-size-fits-all answer.

North Margin Studio brings those pieces together in one place: thoughtful resources for family life and carefully structured literacy support for learners who need a different way forward.

About Ruth & Literacy

I have worked with K–8 students in public, private, and one-to-one settings, with a focus on readers who need more than additional practice or traditional tutoring.

I am IMSE Orton-Gillingham certified and draw from a range of structured literacy programs and approaches. Rather than relying on one set curriculum, I choose the tools, pacing, and instructional sequence that best fit each learner’s strengths and needs.

Through North Margin Studio, I am building a flexible Midcoast Maine literacy practice for families, homeschool learners, schools, co-ops, and libraries.

What Guides My Work:

Practical support. Thoughtful instruction. Respect for the learner in front of me.

Progress begins with understanding what a student needs, meeting them there, and building carefully from that point.
